Hey Robotics ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to a new year! I apologize for posting so late, but I am new this year, and was not exactly sure who is supposed to run this blog. Well anyways, this year is going to be GREAT!! Here is an overview of this year so far...
In September, we kicked off the year with a competition at East Ridge with last years robots. This did not change team standings, but was purely for fun. It was a great chance for people new to robotics (like me!) to get to experience what a real meet is like.
In October, we ordered some West Coast Gearboxes. This will allow the robot to have 2 gears, a higher gear for speed, and a lower gear for torque. They are being assembled as I type this, and are very close to completion.
In November, we worked on various side projects, and improved our robotics skills. We had a special interview with Mr. Stapleton. He works for a John Deere assembly plant in Waterloo, Iowa. He is also the Grandfather of one of our team members. To see a full interview, the video is posted on the front page of the website.
Today is the last meeting until December. We decided to compete this year up in Duluth, on March 7th. Build season starts on January 6th. There are countdowns for both these events under the Schedule/Events page. People are settling comfortably into their interest areas, and we are excited to start work on this years robot!
Until next time!
